Bombaypolis Moments.... Part 10 - Mumbai, I Missed You...

Coming back home after nearly 5 months made me realise how much I missed Mumbai all these days and no matter where you go, home is home and will be home, there is no warmer feeling than that! I also realised that Mumbai is not merely a city, it isn't merely a megapolis (Bombaypolis, as I have always called it on Rajeev's World!), it is an emotion, it is a state of mind - probably the Mumbai state of mind!

Mumbai Express - it may be the name of the mediocre confectionery located in the Renaissance Hotel, Powai, but it signifies the adrenaline rush that this megapolis thrives on - everything here is in express mode - it may be a vada-pav meal on the go or the frenetic pace of the suburban trains, as though driven by clockwork...

This board on Juhu Tara Road, just outside the Millionaire showroom had us in splits - who the hell wrote Juhu Residents Ass?

A dose of Korean cuteness on our refrigerator reminded me of our adopted home in Korea for the near future!

This display of lights R-City Mall makes an interesting visual impact...

And seeing east Asia, I realised that India is a lot more diverse than the rest of the world and probably that's what gives India its uniqueness...

And that's what keeps the flame burning...

And not to forget our timeless mythology...

For over 10,000 years, our rich mythology stood up against all odds while other great civilizations perished - the Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans came and disappeared. But Hindu culture survives. And that's a unifying force...

And food... the succulent, melt in your mouth kebabs talk of India being the melting pot of civilizations for millenia and Mumbai is a microcosm of that!
