A Big Let Down In Gyeongju...

From the Bulguksa Temple, we proceeded to the Gyeongju Folk Craft Village where the Silla Arts and Science Museum is located.
The museum sounded pretty interesting as it houses miniatures of monuments in Gyeongju and various artifacts that had been unearthed during excavations here. Being a history buff, I was naturally interested in the museum.

A plan of ancient Gyeongju city...
Unfortunately there was no information in English at all. We tried to figure out the displays meant but... but, we failed. In exasperation, Neeti sought the help of a museum staff, but all she could say, sorreee, opsoyo...

This place has a wealth of interesting stuff, but we could not enjoy...
This is extremely atrocious - Korea is a wonderful country with friendly people and we as aliens are extremely eager to explore this land. But visiting a museum housing treasures like these and not being able to figure out a thing is a pity...

A sun-dial I presume...

This is how the ancient Koreans pursued their interest in astronomy...

...in observatories like this replica!

A model of a temple dedicated to Buddhism...

Glassware that seemed to indicate trade with Central Asia and ancient Persia...

A stone vessel...

Another model...

The peace that the idols of Buddha displayed calmed us down...

And since we could not figure out a lot, we saw whatever we could and rushed out to explore the craft shops outside...

Korean pottery...

Ceramic owls - ullu aur ullu ka pattha...  only a North Indian would understand that!

Traditional ceramic-ware to hold kimchi...
