Plane Spotting At ICN ... Part 8

The land of blue - capturing Incheon without the blue of Korean Air, well, is virtually impossible!

A Korean Air Boeing 777 is being towed...

Two Garuda Indonesia Airbus A330s, a Vietnam Airlines Boeing 777, Jin Air Boeing 737, a British Airways Boeing 787 Dream)liner, Cathay Pacific Boeing 777, a Delta Airbus A330 and a Finnair Airbus A330...

And some more beauties...

The Vietnam Airlines Boeing 777 looks stunning, but the Air Asia X Airbus A330 pales in comparison...

Thai Airbus A330 and an Alitalia Airbus A330...

A Lao Air Airbus A320...

The exotic find of the day - Air Astana Boeing 767 from Khazakstan...

An Air France Boeing 777 comes in from CDG, Paris...

Almost at our gate, next to the resplendent bird from Suwarnabhumi, Bangkok...

Back To Base...

Early this morning we set out from Kansai to head back to Incheon. It was a gloomy morning with the skies overcast with dark clouds and occasional bursts of showers...

The view from our hotel room window. In the distance, Terminal 2 of Kansai is visible...

A short 5 minute bus ride from the hotel brought us to Terminal 2 which was crowded at 6 AM. All those who had come home for the Golden Week were now headed back.
We were flying Peach again. We had planned to use the automated check-in and baggage drop facility, which unfortunately did not work and were forced to get into a longish check-in queue. And by the time we made through through security to the boarding gate, it was pouring hard.

The cargo bay...

ANA Cargo fleet - Boeing 767 freighters...

My raindrop-kissed window...

The Sky Gate Bridge that connects the mainland to the airport island...

And we land into Incheon...

It's a bright day here. Hope to do some Plane Spotting before we disembark...

Sayonara, Japan...

We completed our tour of Kyoto and headed back to Kansai International Airport, from where our Japan trip began a few days ago...

Thanks to JR Japan Rail, we hopped on to a super convenient two hour train ride direct to Kansai Airport!

And what followed was an exciting hour of Plane Spotting At KIX...

And a long hour of Plane Spotting left us craving for a quick dinner...

And we had a healthy meal of a salad with Japanese dressing with miso soup...

As we end this trip of Japan, we can't help but bow with respect to the Japan rose like a phoenix from the ashes of the Second World War. There is nothing that justifies the Japanese brutality in the war but the nuclear attack on Hiroshima was a blow to the country - to the millions of innocent Japanese who had nothing to do with the war machine.
Japan could have whined about it for years and decades and could have potentially gone insane like some nations have in today's world. But they didn't do that. They remained sane, painstakingly rebuilt their economy and gave it back to the United States economically!
And their people stand out for their positivity and industrious nature, while being extremely soft spoken and respectful. And more importantly, they love India and Indians - ancient bonds are being cemented by recent initiatives...
We have fallen in love with Japan! Head over heels in love! And a five year visa with a short one hour hop across the Sea of Japan or the Eastern Sea (whichever way you like to call it!) certainly helps!
Till we meet again, Sayonara, Japan...

Plane Spotting At KIX .... Part II

And my Plane Spotting mania at KIX - Kansai International Airport continues - I could do all this thanks to Neeti who willingly came along with me to see this view of the airport!

The Hawaiian Airbus A330 all set to head back home to Honolulu...

And there she's perfectly lined up on the taxiway...

A lineup of ANA jets with Asiana and Emirates adding some spice...

The Hawaiian Airbus A330 taxis towards the runway just as a Japan Airlines Boeing 737 makes its way towards the ramp...

A Japan Airlines Boeing 777 being towed away towards the technical area...

Pushback time for the Airbus A321 of Beijing Capital Airlines...

Time for some exotica - a Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 in her retro livery...

ANA Boeing 767 pushes back...

The Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 heads to the runway...

The Turkish Airbus A330 all set to head back home to Istanbul's Attaturk International Airport...

And so does the Cebu Pacific - I must say a quick turnaround...
And it's time to head back, have a quick dinner and turn in for the night, before we head back to Incheon in the morning...

But not before checking out the displays here. And I found this model - of a East African Airways Super VC10 - a classic airliner that my parents flew on, often...

And another one from yesteryears - a model of a Pan Am Boeing 727...

And another one - a model of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 707 in its classic retro livery!
