Livin' It Up At Myeongdong...

The heavy dose of Korean history at the DMZ and the disappointment at Din Tai Fung left us with an appetite that we could literally kill for!

So we decided to walk down to the Myeongdong, a shopping district, that Neeti had discovered last night. This is where you can feel Seoul pulsating with loads of youthful energy, night or day.

Myeongdong, which literally means 'bright cave' or 'bright tunnel', dates back to the Joseon Dynasty when it was called Myeongryebang. It was a residential area then. Under Japanese occupation, Myeongdong became a commercial district. And today, it is one of Seoul's main shopping and tourist districts, mainly catering to Chinese visitors. Myeongdong has emerged as a high-end retail destination and in 2011, 2012 and 2013, Myeongdong was listed as the ninth most expensive shopping street in the world.

But the real action lies not in the trendy departmental stores, but here on the pedestrian streets, with numerous handcarts dishing out the freshest and tastiest Korean street food, a veritable feast for the eyes, and yes, obviously, the stomach as well! Here you will be spoilt for choice, and every bite you take will thrill you no end!
