A Glimpse Of Bakong...

Our first stop on the countryside tour was in Brasat Bakong district to catch a glimpse of the Bakong temple...

A marker indicating this is a world heritage site...

That's the Bakong temple - this sandstone temple was constructed by the Khmer kings around the 9th century AD. The temple served as the official state temple of King Indravarman I in the ancient city of Hariharalaya, located around this area that is today called Roluos...

The place is indeed placid...

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer of the Hindu trinity of deities...

The perimeter wall...

We stayed here for a while, enjoying the tranquility...

...the rustle of the breeze and the chirping of the birds...

...all in a melodious choir!

Experimenting with black and white...

And sepia...

And this guy is staring at me... I gotta go!
