Walking around Siem Reap, we came across the Grand Hotel d'Angkor - a quick Google search as we walked told us that this was a Raffles property and has a lovely high tea menu. And our thoughts went back to our visits to the Tiffin Room at Singapore's marquee Raffles Hotel, in August 2014 and again in February 2015!
On a whim we decided to walk in and enjoy the high tea here...
Ahhh... lovely memories our visit to E&O in Penang came flashing back...
And the description of Irish Coffee brought back memories of Prithvi Cafe back home in Mumbai...

The stuff paled in comparison to the Tiffin Room in Singapore, which is impeccable! And worst of all, the service was woefully indifferent...
But the decor of the hotel was amazing...
The Grand Hotel d'Angkor was constructed in the French Colonial style that was popular in the early 20th century. It opened its doors to guests in 1932. The hotel is located in a veritable green paradise with 15 acres of gardens, including a garden that provides fruits, vegetables and herbs for use in the kitchen. And from what we gathered they do cooking classes here!
The lobby elevator is made of wood and features ornate wrought iron doors...
And there we go - our next stop, the Angkor National Museum...
