The Beauty Of Tam Coc... Part I

The next highlight of our visit to the Ninh Binh area was to the Tam Coc river, a river that flows, snaking its way through the limestone karsts, carving grottoes as flows into the Gulf of Tonkin...

Watching the boats on the Tam Coc as we wait for our ride...

It was a real treat watching this lovely little "happy go lucky" angel from Brazil and her antics with her parents and her elder sister...

She was real charming and adorable...

Setting out on our boat ride...

Passing by a riverside villa...

Our flotilla heads out...

And the karsts come out on our way...

I loved the way these boatsmen operate the oars, they do it with their feet so deftly...

A photographer on the boat...

Going under the bridge...

Anneyong hasseyo! Ahhh, some Korean ladies!

Navigating the various bends...

Roosters on the banks...

Nets left behind by the fishermen...

Life by the riverside, relaxing on a hammock...

It's so peaceful out here...

Thick vegetation in the shallows...

Shrimp nets...

That's apparently a cemetery...

That's how they row with their feet...

A shrine by the Tam Coc...

"Say cheese"

Carved by the flowing water over millions of years, the limestone takes amazing shapes...

After each bend, we see something even more amazing...

Look at the amazing rock...

And the sun is out now...

This is a pristine region...
