A Walk Through Île de la Cité...

After soaking in tonnes of French arts and history, at the Musée d'Orsay, Musée Rodin and the Panthéon, I had to head back to Fontainebleau. And to catch the train to Fonty, I thought it made sense to walk down from the Panthéon to Gare de Lyon, as the weather was quite comfortable despite being sunny. My walk took through the Latin Quarter, across an island on the Seine, called the Île de la Cité, past the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the  Hôtel de Ville...

Passing by the Saint-Étienne-du-Mont again...

There I see the grand lady, the Notre-Dame Cathedral...

Tympanum of the Last Judgment...

I gotta cover Notre-Dame alongwith Neeti...

Crossing the Seine, on a bridge called the Pont d'Arcole...

The dome is that of the Greffe du Tribunal de commerce de Paris, while further on the right is the Conciergerie...

The Conciergerie was the seat of the medieval Kings of France from the 10th to the 14th centuries, after which the Louvre was made the seat of the royals. The Conciergerie became an administrative building and a prison. It was here the queen,  Marie Antoinette was incarcerated after the French Revolution...

A performance on the Pont...

Now in the 4th Arrondissement, at the Hôtel de Ville...
This isn't a hotel, but, is the City Hall, the building that houses the city's local administration and the office of the Mayor of Paris...

Originally built in the 1300s, Hôtel de Ville was reconstructed in 1892...

It is quite an impressive building...

As I got into Gare de Lyon, I stumbled on this beautiful performance by local musicians...
