Exploring Château de Fontainebleau... Part II

My exploration of Château de Fontainebleau continues, as I head further into the various chambers and rooms of the palace.

A powder room...

The Papal apartments...

The apartment was done up for the visit of Pope Pius VII, in 1804, who stayed here on his way to Paris to crown Napoleon I the Emperor of France. The Pontiff was interned here under the close supervision of Napoleon from 1812-1814, when he protested against the declaration of Napoleon II as the King of Rome...

The chamber of Francis I’s favourite, Anne de Pisselieu, Duchess d’Etampes, which was lavishly decorated between 1541 and 1548...

The chamber of Saint-Louis...

The Gallery of Diana...

The boudoir of Marie-Antoinette...

The table where Napoleon signed his abdication on April 4, 1814, before his exile to Elba...

The Trinity Chapel...

Schedule of performances at the Chapel...

Music students practicing...

And it's time to head outdoors...
